The celebration of the 1st International Sport Countries Conference (Barcelona, April 2003) resulted in the adoption of the Barcelona Declaration by representatives of sport institutions and organisations from several countries. This declaration is based on the desire of the sport development actors to design and implement policies and targeted measures to promote the "sport countries" concept, the expression of their sport potential and their participation in international events.
